This week Reception had their 2nd swimming lesson and the children are already making progress! This week they learned to jump in from the side, float on their backs and put their face in the water. Then to build water confidence the children played in the water without touching the sides of the pool. This required lots of energy so all the children wore arm bands to keep them safe. The children had a great time and by the end of the lesson everyone had a smile of their face and had learned a new skill!
Over the last few weeks Reception children have been learning to jump safely and skillfully, climb, balance and travel under equipment. They can wait for their turn as well as get out and put away the equipment safely. These were new skills which were sometimes scary for the children but they concurred their fear and everyone made great progress.

The children also made a lifeboat station role play area and have been rescuing each other from the sharks.
