These are the videos from the Reception Class assembly last week. I'm afraid the song didn't come out well but here are the story and dance. The children were amazing. I am so proud of them.
Your child can improve their reading by reading these simple online books with you. Just click on the link below and choose a book to read (I suggest you start with books 1 to 5). Ask your child to read the words by looking at the letters, saying the sounds and blending the sounds together to make the word. Ask them to look our for sight words too. If they get stuck they can click on the word for help.

Parents, you can try this at home by using a set of 12 everyday objects e.g. coins, spoons, pens or paper clips. On Friday all the school's in the St George's group celebrated UNICEF's Day For Change 2015. The children had a great day joining in new activities and working with children of all ages from St George's Seville. A big thanks to all the families who donated food and money to UNICEF. Click on the link to find Phase 2 phonics games.
Over the last two weeks Reception Class has been learning the story of Jack and The Beanstalk. We created a story map to help us remember it. Listen to us as we tell the story. Reception class are great at making repeating patterns. We made lots of different patterns which are on display inside our classroom. Come in and look at them. We also made repeating patterns using children. Can your child explain the pattern to you?
Reception has created an indoor garden in our classroom. The children have loved planting flowers, digging for treasure and finding magic bean seeds. We even planted a jungle for our dinosaur friends to live in. We can't wait for it to grow! |
